POSITIVE AUTO GP DEBUT FOR DANIEL

Dutch driver-team combination Daniël De Jong and MP Motorsport enjoyed a positive debut in the Auto GP Championship at Donington Park Grand Prix Circuit over the weekend, 16th/17th July, with the 19-year-old taking a best result of sixth position during an extremely wet first race.
For De Jong, who is dovetailing selected events in Auto GP alongside his commitments in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, this weekend’s race meeting marked his first ever experience of the British track in addition to his maiden run in the 550hp Zytek-engined Lola chassis.

DUTCH RACER DE JONG CONTINUES GREAT PROGRESS AT HUNGARORING

Formula Renault 3.5 Series rookie Daniël De Jong continued his strong progress in the category during the latest round at the Hungaroring in Budapest over the weekend, 2nd/3rd July, with a pair of solid race finishes.
Driving for Comtec Racing, the 18-year-old from Westmaas in The Netherlands raced from 25th on the grid into a 16th place finish during Saturday’s 45-minute encounter while on Sunday he again climbed up the order – this time from 22nd on the grid into the top 18.

POSITIVE NURBURGRING WEEKEND FOR ROOKIE DE JONG

Germany’s Nurburgring played host to the fifth event of the 2011 Formula Renault 3.5 Series over the weekend, 18th/19th June, where Dutch rookie Daniël De Jong continued his impressive progress with a season-best performance during qualifying added to a pair of consistently strong race runs.
Having impressed at Monza in Italy and on the streets of Monte-Carlo during the Monaco Grand Prix support event last month, the Comtec Racing driver arrived at the Nurburging looking forward to the race meeting having previously gone very well at the track in Formula Renault 2.0.

SEASON BEST PERFORMANCE FOR DE JONG AT MONZA

Daniël De Jong delivered by far the best performance of his maiden season in the ultra-competitive Formula Renault 3.5 Series at Monza over the weekend, 14th/15th May, as the home of the Italian Grand Prix hosted the third race meeting of the 2011 championship.
Running as support to the FIA World Touring Car Championship, rather than as part of the World Series by Renault package this weekend, the event marked the 18-year-old’s first ever competitive experience of the world-famous track and he delivered two tremendous race drives.

FLYING DUTCHMAN DE JONG RELISHING FORMULA RENAULT 3.5 DEBUT

Formula Renault 3.5 Series graduate Daniël De Jong has just a couple of days to go until the first round of the 2011 season at Motorland Aragon in Spain and after a series of positive tests, the 18-year-old can’t wait for the racing to finally begin.
De Jong, who hails from Westmaas in The Netherlands, built a fantastic reputation last year where he was a race winner and took multiple podiums in the Formula Renault Northern European Cup and a front-runner and podium finisher in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0.
